• English literacy education (in particular reading) in the multilingual societies,
• Teaching English Literature
• English texts created for children and young people – school texts, literature, popular culture, digital texts and so on,
• Multiliteracies, including the visual and literacy and language across the curriculum,
• Sociology of the child, childhood and children,
• Classroom interaction analysis, and
• Work with primary and secondary schools and teachers, including consultancies and in service/professional development in all aspects of the English language and literacy curriculum and pedagogy.
