Course Description

This course offers teachers socio-cognitive strategies for teaching expository/argumentative writing at the secondary level. The first session will consider the usefulness of expository/argumentative writing to students, including students unlikely to proceed to university education. Subsequent sessions will examine ways of developing the critical thinking an linguistic skills underlying effective exposition and argumentation.
